Overview

Cache vessels were usually small, lidded, globular bowls with two loop handles on the sides and one handle on the lid. They generally held an assortment of colored stone beads, various greenstone artifacts, copper foil, and shell. These vessels and their contents were used to “awaken” or ensoul the building in which they were placed (Stuart 1998: 402).
