Pectoral, Carved Shell

This conch shell pectoral rested in a portion of Str. T30 at Tayasal that had been disturbed during the Late to Terminal Classic period. While it is composed in a simple style, such objects are rare in the Peten Lakes region. It was not encountered in a burial, but was found in what appears to have been some sort of cache deposit and was likely “killed.”
