Overview
Sector Z is likely part of the Sector AA forming an E Group with two western buildings (Str. AA 1/2 and Z 1/1). It includes the second tallest (ca. 25 m) building, Structure Z 1/1, at Nixtun-Ch’ich’. Excavations into Sector Z have been sparse. One excavation was placed on Structure Z 1/2 to test whether it was a palace.
